The House

The breakfast room

We welcome you in our 19th-century mansion in the heart of Ghent. In the shadow of the historical neighbourhood Prinsenhof (Prince's court), our house was built on the bailey of the castle of Emperor Charles V. The name Atlas refers to our passion for travelling. On the way abroad we got inspired. While visiting New York, we got the idea of starting a B&B in the city centre. We started collecting items from various parts of the world to decorate the rooms, the many maps and globes take you on a journey. We began in 2002 arranging themed rooms, each of them evokes the image of a continent. In the morning, we serve you a delicious breakfast in an antique setting. Our drawing room is always available if you are in for a drink or a chat.

The City

The Rabot in Ghent

Ghent is an undiscovered pearl. The city not only looks beautiful on a postcard, but on a visit you will find the perfect balance between historical and contemporary, family and nightlife, culture and gastronomy. There is a pleasant atmosphere through the mix of Ghentians, students and tourists from all over the world. Our B&B is located between the Rabot (photo) lock and the medieval castle Gravensteen (photo). Fortunately everything is within walking distance. From our front door you walk through the Prinsenhof to the pedestrian zone. Along the picturesque Graslei with its cozy terraces you arrive at the famous Three Towers. Are you thirsty or hungry? Then you can go to one of the 300 cafés or a nice restaurant. Come and sniff the atmosphere yourself. Bet you come back.
